Questions we have on trail

How far to the next water, and how reliable it is right now — hikers' own reports, not just a mapper's guess.
What's worth knowing before the next section — permits, river crossings, seasonal closures, long water carries.
Trail closures — see which parts of the trail are currently closed due to fire or other reasons, and how to get around.
How far you've walked today and what's left to where you're stopping.
What taking an alternate means for you, before committing to it.

Are your hands too cold or wet to pull out your phone? — 'Hey Siri, Trail report' — and she will tell you how far you walked, how far it is to your destination and to the next water source - offline
Missing a trail? — the entire trail-creation process is built fully automated. All it takes as input is the trail's name and a GPX file — that's it. + countless hours reviewing every mile of it
Easy water reports — mark a source full, low or dry in two taps, for the next hiker behind you.
Offline maps even beyond the trail — at almost no extra data cost (under 5 MB), every map ships with a coarse, 200-mile-wide corridor of roads and general terrain, so you're not stranded the moment you navigate to towns that are further off trail.
Hurt? See how to get off trail asap — no matter where you are, one button shows you the shortest walk out to a road.
A push notification the moment you take a wrong turn — the app watches your track and tells you before you've walked far off it.
A hand-crafted topo map — Custom made map that adjusts its elevation line labels unit from km/miles, hill-shade adjusts to the rotation of the map
Custom alternates — You can draw any line anywhere, following any random trail or completely off trail, and use it as if it were baked into the app, with its entire elevation profile measured. If you like shortcuts the way Pez likes them, you already know
A battery-saving mode — no live GPS, and the pixels you don't need switched off.
Sunrise and sunset — even offline, see exactly what time the sun rises and sets where you're standing, so you can plan your day around the light.
Very high map quality — almost every stream, pass, peak, pond, lake and road is named, so it's easy to write a comment about a place nearby.
Waypoint comments — share your insights about a place with other hikers. These also help improving the map in its yearly review
